Description

I’m searching for various vintage washing machines to add to my collection primarily to preserve for display and demonstration. I can pickup anywhere in the UK and Ireland at your convenience.

In particular, I need a Hotpoint “Liberator" washing machine from the 1970s that can be easily recognised by its bright purple door with a chrome door trim and controls all in varying shades of pink and purple as can be seen in the pictures - models 1850/1851, 1828 and 1848. Also required is a “Best Buy” washing machine from this era called the Hotpoint Super Electronic model 1827 which is similar but has a clear door with a white/off white door trim. The Hotpoint “Microtronic X2000” is also a machine of interest to me.

I’d also like add a couple of Hoover “Keymatic” washing machines from the 1960s and 1970s to my collection if they still survive. The models I am after in particular are 3226, 3203H or 3223H and 3243H. A Hoover "Computer Control" would also be very much appreciated.

Perhaps someone may even have an old English Electric “Reversomatic” washing machine from the 1960s! The Servis “Selectronic” is another machine of interest to me since it is one of the first microprocessor controlled washing machines made in the UK much like the Creda “Microelectronic 1000” model 12000.

The overall condition of the washing machine is not massively important however a machine that is in good condition and in basic working order will naturally fetch a better price than a machine that is in poor condition and not working. Finally, if you have something that may be of interest to me and would like to have preserved (even if they are not the models mentioned above!) or need further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
