The fuel tank has an innovative design that simultaneously increases capacity (for improved cruising distance) and cuts down on bulk. The CBR500R features a powerful twin-cylinder engine to give you unmatched power. You won’t ever have to choose between a bike with lightning-fast acceleration from a standing start and one that can take you on a thrilling chase through the slick six-speed gearbox at high rpm. The CBR500R gives you both. This is what freedom is all about. Just like its larger CBR siblings, an Assist/Slipper Clutch eases upshifts and prevents rear wheel lock-up on hard downshifts. And to give you an even sportier ride, torque has been increased by 3 to 4 percent in low- to mid-speed ranges of between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm. The CBR500R features a new inverse-display LCD dash with Gear Position indicator. When tackling aggressive riding conditions, the handlebars mount below the top bridge, allowing you to maintain an optimal level of control.
