Unique and rare piece of aeronautica memorabilia from The Battle of Britain Museum.

This is a commemorative wall plaque which was produced to assist in the raising of funds for the construction of Battle of Britain Museum, Hendon.

It features a Spitfire Mk 1 and comes complete with the box and certificate dated 1978.

This original presentation box has the original certificate which is personally signed by the well known, highly distinguished and decorated flying ace, Sqn Ldr Kenneth Raymond 'Jacko' Jackson, MBE, AFC, RAF. Squadron Leader K. R. Jackson is the distinguished author of 'Fifty Two Years in the Cockpit'.

The certificate and item are in good condition however the box is showing its 30 year plus age.

The plaque is of a coloured mounted Spitfire Mk1, Serial No.R6595, Coded DW-O, from No.610 Squadron. This Spitfire is one of the most famous ever flown due to its coverage in a series of photographs that appear in most publications on the Battle of Britain and the Spitfire.

This is an exceptional item of memorabilia and will look great in any collection.
