Description
Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Grounds Maintenance Driver to join Barnsley Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
*
Drive a range of council vehicles (with or without trailers) and operate powered, mechanical, or hand-held equipment.
*
Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting any defects or faults to management.
*
Lock and unlock council premises in line with contracted works, ensuring security at all times.
*
Monitor fuel stocks at remote depots and liaise with relevant teams to maintain adequate supplies.
*
Provide courteous and professional customer service, responding to public enquiries and reporting service issues.
*
Follow agreed schedules and adapt to changing priorities as directed by your line manager.
*
Promote safe working practices and comply with all relevant Health and Safety policies.
*
Contribute to continuous improvement and effective performance management within the team.
About You
You’ll be a dependable, hands-on team player who takes pride in delivering quality work. You should be comfortable working outdoors and adaptable to varying tasks and conditions.
