REESON Education are delighted to be working with a fantastic primary school in Bexley, South East London offering an opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to progress into leadership position as a Lead Teacher.

You will be the leader learning and be responsible for increasing the proportion of good and outstanding teaching across the school. This post is ideal for experienced teachers who are on the upper end of the main pay scale and are looking for the next stage of their career.

We aim for every child to achieve qualifications in swimming, rock climbing and cycling whilst also working to complete their John Muir Award. We achieve this through our PE curriculum and the use of residential experiences."

Job Purpose

* To act within the conditions of employment of teachers contained in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document, the Education Act 2007, the required standards for Qualified Teacher Status, other current educational legislation and the school's articles of government.
* To be responsible for increasing the proportion of good and outstanding teaching across the school.
* To keep the morale of staff within the year groups as high as possible and to help ensure they are functioning at the required pace to achieve their pupils' targets.
* To foster good academic and behavioural standards within the school.
* To ensure the well-being and all-round development of pupils within the year groups.
* Strategically plan CPD to support teachers to improve practice.
* Model teaching and learning across the school

Duties and Responsibilities

* To ensure that curriculum planning, teaching and assessment undertaken jointly by all members of the year groups is effective in meeting agreed targets.
* Assessment coordinator.
* To ensure the pastoral care and discipline in the year groups is effective throughout the day, including at time of movement or transition within the school.
* Undertake a curriculum or school management area of responsibility.
* To liaise with parents as necessary and ensure they are kept informed of pupils' progress.
* To visit each classroom within the year groups on a planned basis to develop and support colleagues.
* To ensure one's own all-round teaching, pupil learning and classroom learning environment would match the OFSTED criteria of at least 'good' but preferably outstanding.

As the person responsible for (curriculum area &/or phase to be decided) you will:

* Closely monitor and evaluate attainment and pupils' progress to ensure high standards; ensuring that the curriculum is appropriately challenging whilst also being relevant in line with the Trust's expectations of the National Curriculum 2014.
* Write a termly report for your areas of responsibility for the Head and Governors.
* Be prepared to attend CPD for your area of responsibility.
* Be prepared to lead school focused CPD for your colleagues.
* In consultation with others, to prepare and develop the relevant policy documents and guidelines.
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure that the School's policies are being implemented.
* Be prepared to attend Governors' or other meetings to promote interest and understanding of your area of responsibility.
* Liaise with other schools and agencies as appropriate.
* Take responsibility for the ordering and allocation of resources.

To be considered for this role you must have a Bachelor of Education or PGCE, with experience as a class teacher or within teaching placements, preferably within Key Stage 1 or 2 ( KS1 / KS2 ). You must also be able to provide the details of two teaching related referees.
