Description
I run a folk-rock band; Barry Lane and the Fridge Mechanics; showcasing my lyrical folk rock songs written in the style of Paul Simon and CSN&Y and ranging from folk-rock to quiet, folk ballads.
We are a band of experienced, friendly musicians. Some of us are retired, others with familiies and work, so we are not aiming for the stars, but want to have fun and friendship playing together, while getting the songs out there.
We are in a state of transition following the departure of our guitarist and bass player. The band currently includes male and female vocals, martin acoustic guitar, mandocello and dulcimer, percussion/drums and sax.
We are looking for an experienced, creative acoustic/elextric guitarist to play steel, acoustic and lead guitar across the range of Barry's up-tempo folk-rock songs and quieter, lyrical songs.
If we can find the right players, this will help us reshape the band and move forward.
We rehearse in Bristol, alternating fortnightly Friday and Sunday evenings. You will need to be available for a schedule of rehearsals and gigs, and provide your own backline and transport. We have several festival gigs coming up in September/October this year.
We can provide rehearsal tracks and CD’s of our songs with chord charts. If you decided to join us we will create plenty of extra rehearsal time to help get a set of songs up and ready.
Please have a listen to our music, including tracks from our latest CDs, to get an idea what we are looking for on our website - you can also find us on Spotify and Apple Music. Search for our CD's Resilience or Legacy.
Please email for a chat and to arrange a time to have a play together.
