Description

This is my Peterson Guitar Special P120G with mahogany case, ElectroVoice speaker, original footswitch and case.

I bought this amp from Coda Music in 1990 and it's absolutely great condition for an amp that's 27 years old.

Peterson amplifiers were designed and built by Pete Tulett in Kings Lynn, Norfolk in the 1980s/90s. Over a short period of time, they made some incredible boutique-quality amplifiers and they were favoured by many great jazz players, such as Martin Taylor, Jim Mullen, John Etheridge.

The Peterson P120G has become a very sought-after amplifer which was only made for an short time.

The P120G is a 120w 2 channel amp, made in the UK to really high spec and is loaded with a 12' EV speaker in a Mahogany cabinet.

Each of the two channels have four tone controls, a gain, reverb and master channel controls. With the split/link button, you can either combine the channels or run them separately.

This amp is in great condition with its original cover and footswitch.

It has a gorgeous warm valve tone even though it is a solid state amplifier. It also responds great to effects pedals, with lots of headroom for pure clean tone.

Its spring reverb really adds to the amp's tone and gives it added depth.

The casing shows a little wear as does the leather handle.

Its back panel shows it is ideally suited for the studio too, having a Level control, Pre/Post switch and dedicated DI, Master Send/Return and Channel 1 Send/Return.

I've had a couple of mod's made to it over the years - the headphone socket has been disabled (who listens to a 120w amp through headphones?) and also the reverb is on *without* the footswitch needing to be plugged in (from the factory, the only way you can turn on/off the reverb was via the footswitch). Both of these mods are easily reversible.
