JXG Custom Luthier Build Esquire / Tele
John Xavier Gill (JXG) was considered to be one of the top builders in the UK, this was built from top grade timbers as a private commission in 2009.
It was blueprinted from a 50s Esquire (still has Esquire decal) but was ordered with a 50's style big Gibson neck. It's a similar size to my Nocaster neck but is more of a Gibson fat D than a Fender U, very comfortable with rolled fingerboard edges and it feels naturally old.
It's based on an Esquire that was converted to Telecaster spec (post '67 wiring) and is a very high spec build that plays, sounds and looks fantastic.
