Fender Stratocaster Made in Japan 1990

Japanese Fender Stratocaster fitted with after market Fender Noiseless pickups, factory fitted Gotoh tuners.

I originally thought this was a 2007 Strat (wrong it’s 89-90 see update below) - Japanese serial numbers (I 015897) can be a bit difficult to date accurately. I have replaced the pickups with a Tortoiseshell pick guard primed with noiseless pickups (£200) so gigging should be easy. There is a chip on the finish you can see on the last picture at the bottom. A few wee dinks but generally great condition. Looks great in lake placid blue with tort pickguard - a great gig friendly guitar.

Selling stimulated me to contact Fender Support and this is the update after examining serial number and photos from Louis at Fender

“The guitar in question looks to be a 'Standard' Stratocaster from 1989-1990 in Lake Placid Blue, built in Japan. These were issued both for the domestic market and for export, this example does appear to be an export model.

These instruments originally shipped with a white pickguard so this looks to have been swapped for tortoiseshell at some stage, other than this modification, plus to the replacement pickups that the guitar appears to have its original hardware.
Will supply a new Fender gig bag with the guitar.
