Guitar Lessons/Tuition £30p/h, £20p/hh

Ladywood, West Midlands

I've been playing guitar for over 10 years, and in that time I have been studying (BA Hons, University of Southampton), teaching (Private and Peripatetic School), performing, recording and touring. Music has taken me around the world, performing and teaching in the UK and across Europe, as well as the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Available across Birmingham, I have an office to use in a local library, or can come to your location depending on timings and distance.

Over the last 3 years, I have lead workshops with The Sea Slugs for South of England Music Services, in both primary and secondary schools, and taught peripatetically across Hampshire, working with young beginners up to more advanced players.

I have a passion for teaching and an eagerness to share my knowledge and experience with my students in the most communicable way, no matter the individuals ability, age or needs. I am an open and honest teacher and am able to adapt and tailor lessons to whatever the student wants out of their playing. I teach all genres, though I have particular expertise in West African styles of guitar, Rock, Jazz and Reggae.

Composing and performing music is a particular passion of mine. I have professionally released four original albums, one with A Certain Shade (Reggae) in 2007 and three with my current band, The Sea Slugs (UK Afrobeat), in 2014, 2015 and 2017. As well as this, I have performed as a singer-songwriter for nearly 10 years, and was recently commissioned to compose a musical for Hampshire Music Services in collaboration with playwright, Zella Compton. I have performed at UK Festivals and venues across the country such as Common People (Southampton), Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Rhythmtree Festival (Isle of Wight), Turner Sims Concert Hall (Southampton) and the Camden Barfly (London).

Please feel to contact me via text or email or call.

All the best,
