Description

Hey there,
I’m from Austria, and therefore a German native speaker. I have gained a lot of experience in private tuition back in my home country and have been giving lessons to students in Glasgow for the past three years. Some weeks were quieter than others, but at certain points I gave up to 10 lessons a week. I am excellent at explaining things that might seem hard at first in an easy and descriptive way. I am even considering studying for PGDE degree after completing my undergrad to make teaching my profession. I really don't mind explaining things more often than once, until you really understand it.
I also worked as a German tutor teaching advanced German for “language for water” - a charity organisation, which was a wonderful experience. The classes helped me to evolve as a teacher enormously and have increased the quality of my lessons.
Some of my students study German at school or Uni and need support to keep up with the material. Others learn it in their spare time – sometimes with the prospect of enhancing their careers. For whatever reason you are looking for tuition – I am happy to help you and I am sure we can establish an individual study plan tailored to your needs.
I give lessons to beginners and advanced German learners alike. One lesson costs 20 pounds and lasts for 60 minutes. Past experience shows that most students prefer weekly lessons, but there is always the option to have a lesson/double lesson every fortnight – whatever suits you the best.
It is easiest if you could contact me via e-mail and I will reply to you fairly quickly – usually the same day.
I look forward to hearing from you :)

Reference from my student Eleanor Waugh:
“I have been having German lessons from Michael for most of the last year. I have found him to be patient, supportive and positive about my progress. He is very well organised for our meetings and always punctual.
The lessons are well structured and varied in content - they include oral and written elements with opportunities to improve listening skills.”
Note: I can provide additional references from former students if required.
