I am an experienced entrepreneur having run my own businesses successfully for over 30 years. I have been 100% successful in raising finance from both investors and commercial banks. My largest deal was to raise equity and loan finance with the help of venture capital specialists Friends Ivory Sime (whom I personally attracted to that MBI project) of £23 million to buy-in wholly and successfully the ITV broadcaster Channel Television which was an AIM listed company. The management team was assembled by me and used my business plan (which underwent an organic and continuous process of important refinement and revision) to pitch to potential investors. I subsequently served as a board director of this ITV company and then also as joint MD of a major Berlin-based international film production organisation.

Later I concentrated on my own independent production company (as producer/writer/director). I simultaneously pursued individual residential property design and construction (satisfying a personal interest in architecture and construction and as a means to boost my personal capital). These were substantially backed by loans of up to £1 million each time (8 projects), successfully raised from Barclays Corporate and other commercial lenders. So, my projects have been based on businesses dependent either with strong cashflows and also where they are just asset-based.

My skill is in the writing and presentation of viable business plans and sales prospectuses with which I have had a 100% track record of success in obtaining finance. I am used to working alongside other professional advisors such as lawyers, financiers and accountants.

I can work closely alongside a client - objectively understanding the nature and needs of a business to develop a convincing plan for presentation to financing sources and prospective investors.

An initial meeting to explore the needs and to discuss the nature of the business would be free of charge or commitment with an absolute respect for confidentiality.

Fees would be discussed before proceeding with any substantive work and can be phased depending on the process, progress and completion of final documents.

I have been through the pitching experience many times so have that knowledge to share. I watch The Dragons Den and frankly despair at how poorly thought-through proposals of often quite good ideas lead to squandered opportunities to pitch for backing fail due to bad preparation and the lack of credible business plans. And don't even ask what I think of the poor quality of the contenders' business plans in The Apprentice!

There is nothing to fear concerning my discretion and respect for confidentiality - I am quite content to enter into NDAs if required. I fully understand how sensitive this area of financing can be. Been there, done that, many times.
