Description

Town Planner

Location: Chelmsford

Penguin Recruitment is proud to be working with a growing development and planning consultancy on the hire of a Town Planner to join their expanding team in Chelmsford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded planner who's keen to work on a variety of residential and mixed-use projects across the South East and East of England.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will play a key part in shaping and delivering development strategies on behalf of landowners, housebuilders, and investors. You'll be involved in site appraisals, planning applications, local plan representations and appeals. The role offers excellent variety and exposure to the full planning lifecycle, from feasibility through to consent.

You'll work closely with senior colleagues and have direct input into client relationships and project strategy. As part of a dynamic team, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to develop their commercial acumen in planning and development.

About You

We are looking for a planner with:

1-3 years of post-graduate experience in planning, preferably within consultancy, client-side or local authority

An RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or a related field

Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development process

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A proactive and professional attitude, with strong organisational skills

MRTPI status or working towards chartership

Why Join Ceres Property?

Competitive salary and benefits package

Flexible and hybrid working options

Friendly and supportive team environment

Opportunities to gain exposure to a wide range of strategic and development planning work

Career development support and clear progression opportunities
