Description

W Talent are delighted to be working exclusively with an Aerospace manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Quality Manager for their Sheffield site. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation, taking ownership of all quality assurance activities, managing FAIRs Processes, and leading engineering improvements across the site.

Role Overview

The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing all quality-related activities within the business, ensuring full compliance with aerospace standards and promoting a strong culture of quality. You will lead the FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) process, maintain the Quality Management System, and work closely with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the company's Quality Assurance function.Oversee, complete, and approve FAIRs in line with AS9102 requirements.Maintain, review, and develop the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with aerospace and customer standards.Conduct internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventative actions.Support engineering teams with quality input for new product introduction and process improvement activities.Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations.Analyse quality performance data and provide informed recommendations.Manage customer and supplier quality concerns, including root cause analysis and structured problem-solving.Ensure all documentation, procedures, and standards are accurate, up to date, and clearly communicated.Lead, mentor, and develop members of the quality team.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Laboratory Manager or Senior Quality Engineer role.Experience in an Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Medical or other regulated manufacturing environment.Strong working knowledge of FAIRs (AS9102) and Quality Assurance principles.Experience managing and developing QMS systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 or equivalent).Solid engineering understanding, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.Strong problem-solving skills and experience with RCA tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, or similar.Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.High attention to detail, with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: Starting Salary 40,000 - 50,000 per yearBonus: Company Bonus Scheme between 10/15% of salaryHours: Monday to Friday, Days Based with some flexHolidays: 25 days holiday plus bank holidaysPension: Company pension schemeDevelopment: Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
