Mech Tech Professionals have an opportunity available for a Process Technician to apprehend a full-time position working at an Energy from Waste facility based in Maidstone, Kent.

Our client, a prestigious waste management firm, require a competent professional to join their dynamic workforce as soon as possible or upon availability.

Overview:

The Process Technician will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of an Energy Recovery Facility. Whilst reporting to the Operations Shift Manager, the Process Technician will carry out plant operational activities in line with the client's procedures, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and operate systems including waste handling, boilers and furnaces, steam turbine generators, ash handling, water treatment, conveyors and filter systems. Operate the plant in a safe, compliant and efficient manner on a rotating shift basis. Use and interrogate complex Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or SCADA systems. Perform routine plant testing and ensuring safe shutdown of the facility when required. Complete operational logs and hand over shifts accurately. Supporting operational improvements, workplace investigations, and corrective actions. Act as a Competent and Authorised Person for plant isolations in accordance with the clients Safety Rules. Support site health, safety and environmental performance, including safety inspections and emergency response duties. Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a technical or science subject preferred, though relevant experience will also be considered. IOSH Managing Safely training (or willingness to complete). Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or SCADA systems. Practical experience with large boilers, rotating equipment, or similar process plant. Knowledge of operational procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, CMMS systems).
