Junior Service Engineer - Fire & Security (Entry Level)

Location: London & Surrounding Areas

Salary: 25,000 - 32,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

I am representing an excellent opportunity on behalf of my client, who is looking to bring an enthusiastic Junior Service Engineer into the Fire & Security industry. This role is ideal for someone who is new to fire & security but has a practical background and wants strong training, development, and a long-term career path

The Role

You will work alongside experienced Engineers, supporting with the servicing and maintenance of:

Fire Alarm Systems

Intruder Alarms

CCTV

Access Control Systems

This hands-on position provides strong foundations for progressing into a fully qualified Service Engineer role.

Training & Development

My client provides an outstanding training programme, including:

Full in-house training with senior engineers

Manufacturer training on leading fire & security systems

FIA fire alarm training modules

IP CCTV, networking and access control courses

Ongoing mentoring, toolbox talks & skill development

A clear route to becoming a fully qualified engineer

This is an exceptional entry point for someone serious about building a career in Fire & Security.

Desirable Background (Not Essential)

The client is open to applicants entering the industry, but the following experience is highly advantageous:

Electrical Improver / Electrician experience

1st fix / 2nd fix experience

Cable pulling, routing & terminations

Patch panel / patching experience

CAT5/CAT6 knowledge & basic networking

General data cabling

Confident with hand & power tools

Experience with trunking, tray, conduit & basket installations

ECS/CSCS card

IPAF / PASMA certifications

All of these skills transfer extremely well into Fire & Security.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Support senior engineers with servicing & maintenance

Assist with system testing, inspections & compliance

Help with basic fault-finding

Carry out cabling & installation preparation

Complete simple service reports

Travel across London and surrounding areas (vehicle provided after training)
