CNC / Manual Machinist

We are looking for a skilled and dependable CNC/Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently. Using both conventional and CNC machines, you should have a solid understanding of trigonometry, geometry, statistics, and algebra, along with excellent computer and communication skills. Physical stamina and a keen interest in precision manufacturing are essential.

To succeed in this role, you should be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn new techniques. Strong critical thinking, time management, and leadership skills are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

* Read, interpret, and follow instructions to assemble equipment and products accurately.

* Operate and control CNC and manual machines efficiently.

* Conduct inspections of equipment, materials, and finished products.

* Analyze issues and implement effective solutions.

* Maintain clear, honest communication with the team.

* Ensure a safe and organized work environment.

* Stay updated with the latest machining techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

* Certificate in Machine Shop Technology or Machine Tool Technology.

* 5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment (preferred).

* Recognized apprenticeship or City & Guilds training (preferred).

* Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.

* Proficiency in reading CAD drawings, symbols, and tolerances.

* Strong mathematical skills.

* Attention to detail, self-motivation, and a team-oriented mindset.

Hours & Pay:

* Monday – Friday, 40-hour workweek.

* Overtime available.

* £15.50 - £18.00 per hour (depending on experience).
