Vehicle Technician

Gloucester

Up to £37,000 – permanent role

Full-time, 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday, early finish Fridays)

Are you an experienced mechanic who takes pride in doing the job right?

Do you want to work in a supportive, close-knit team with genuine recognition for the work you do?

Our client, a leading national business with a well-maintained fleet, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team.

You’ll service and repair a fleet of vans from routine maintenance to major repairs in a fully equipped workshop, with occasional travel in a Fleet Support Vehicle to assist with on-the-road servicing and breakdowns.

This is a hands-on role in a friendly, supportive environment, focused on quality work rather than sales and time pressures.

Responsibilities of the role:

Carry out vehicle diagnostics and record results

Service company vehicles and complete associated paperwork

Undertake repairs in line with good practice and supplier recommendations

Advise the Workshop Supervisor on specialist part requirements

Travel nationwide to assist with breakdowns in the Fleet Support Vehicle

Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation and workshop rules

Escalate issues and seek guidance when required

Support additional business tasks as needed

Visit other business locations on occasion

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven mechanic (Level 3 qualified or through experience) with exposure to a wide range of vehicles

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and logical thinking skills

Organised with good time management and prioritisation abilities

Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure

Clear communicator, able to explain technical issues simply

Team player with the ability to work independently when needed

Full UK manual driving licence
