Position Description / Scope of the Role

The Maintenance Handyman provides general support to the Facilities & Maintenance department by carrying out a wide variety of repair, upkeep, and site service tasks. The role is responsible for the general upkeep of the building, ensuring the site is safe, functional, and maintained to a professional standard of appearance. This position plays a key part in supporting the smooth running of the factory’s operations through proactive maintenance and basic repairs.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

* Carry out general site repairs including basic carpentry, painting, and minor works tasks (within competency and training).

* Support machine moves, installations, and site project work as directed by maintenance management.

* Undertake preventative maintenance checks on facilities, equipment, and building fabric.

* Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring downtime and disruption are minimised.

* Maintain site tidiness by repairing fixtures, fittings, and general factory infrastructure (doors, windows, shelving, flooring, etc.).

* Assist with moving equipment, furniture, or materials when required.

* Report faults and potential hazards to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.

* Ensure work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety policies, safe systems of work, and relevant regulations.

* Liaise with external contractors and support their work on site where required.

* Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

* Experience in a handyman, maintenance, or similar role.

* Practical knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general repair work.

Hours of Work

Overtime available

D Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm / Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm
