Laundress, Chelsea, £££

Description

We’re looking for a highly skilled Laundress to join a fully staffed household in Chelsea, supporting a lovely family of three.

This role focuses entirely on laundry and wardrobe care. You’ll be responsible for the daily care of clothing, including delicate and designer pieces, wardrobe management, linen care, and packing/unpacking for travel.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, organised, and meticulous, with excellent knowledge of fine fabrics and how to care for them properly. You should feel confident taking full ownership of all laundry responsibilities within the home.

You’ll work alongside a lovely PA and a supportive housekeeping team. As the family has a dog, it’s important that you’re comfortable around pets.

The family travels to Sardinia and Switzerland during the summer and winter and would love the Laundress to accompany them for a couple of weeks at a time.

Duties and responsibilities:


Daily laundry care: washing, ironing, steaming, and pressing



Specialist care of delicate and designer garments



Wardrobe management and seasonal organisation



Linen care and inventory



Packing and unpacking for travel



Occasional travel support with the household team



Requirements:


Proven experience in a similar role within a private household



Expertise in caring for luxury garments and delicate fabrics



Highly organised with excellent time management skills



Meticulous and detail oriented



Flexible and adaptable



Able to work Saturdays on rotation when the family is in residence



Days/Hours: 45 hours per week, 8am–5pm, across 5 days. This includes 2 Saturdays per month when the family is in residence, with Sundays and one weekday off. Fewer weekends will be required when the family is away.

Start: ASAP / Willing to consider candidates with up to a 1 month notice period
