AOC U27G4XM 27" inch 4K UHD Gaming Monitor 160Hz Fast IPS Mini LED HDR1000 1ms
Battersea, London
£300
Description
Bought from brand new 3 weeks ago. Like new and boxed with all accessories and paperwork.
I researched and compared online using feedback, measurement data, images and videos, all of the Mini LED monitors using these 160Hz fast IPS panels, and the AOC won out: it has the best overall SDR and HDR picture accuracy and I have never seen blooming at all using local dimming on any level, since it uses shadow biased dimming. I was honestly blown away by the picture quality for the cheap price, and in many regards, it comes quite close to my XG27UCDMG and other high end OLED monitors, whilst even beating them on HDR brightness and overall image sharpness and clarity. In some regards, I simply preferred using this monitor, such as for desktop apps/ work and for certain games due to the sheer clarity and brightness. This monitor is much sharper than any OLED I have owned, it is incredible in that regard.
The local dimming even works fine in SDR/ desktop, though I actually found contrast looking better with it off. I am surprised by how deep the blacks are on this monitor. But this is now surplus to me needs, hence the sale.
If you suffer eye strain from displays, or some OLEDs, like I do, you should be safe with this monitor. It was like looking at paper, for me. I also considered the new LG Mini LED, but it looks like there are a lot of faulty panels and issues with it, sadly. And it is very expensive, at almost £2k. So, I really do think this is one of, if not the best Mini LEDs on the market right now.
