Description
Lovely vintage bike, custom built, you won't find another one like this anywhere.
The frame is a quite rare Regina Sport, in a cool mixte geometry. The paintjob is great, white with a few shades of blue that range from sky to deep blue. The headbadge is pretty nice too, look at that cat there! Bikes are not made like this any more.
The build is quite unique too, with a Sturmey Archer S2c hub that provides 2 gears and a coaster brake. There are no cables, either for the brake or the gears, making the bike really neat and minimalist. You shift gear slightly moving the pedals backguards, and to break you need to backpedal a bit more. Front brake is standard, with a caliper and a lever on handlebars.
Other components of the built are drop bars, high profile rims, Halo Aerorage front wheel, SC big platform pedals, Forza saddle, Michelin Dynamic Sport tyres, Weinmann brake, etc. Components in different shades of blue matching with frame.
It is really fun to ride and the back pedal shifting is amazing. It takes a few miles to master but when you get it, then it is addictive. Also it goes fast if pushed, thanks to the drop bars and large, thin tyres.
It is a real vintage bike but it has been serviced and with many modern parts fitted, so it works great.
It looks fantastic as you can see in pics but of course remember that frame is a few decades old so there are imperfections, like some surface rust in areas and other blemishes like scratches, marks, etc. Nothing structurally compromising just patina commensurate with age. You might want to repaint it if you prefer pristine looks but it would be a shame to remove the original finish as it is so cool.
Overall, a bike like no other. Super nice and rare mixte frame, unique gear setup, fast and fun to ride.
