Antique Edwardian Period Piece.
Small Rustic Pitch Pine Hobby Craft or Sewing Work Box Storage Chest,
circa 1900’s.
We are delighted to offer this gorgeous antique rustic pitch pine storage work box. A genuine late 19th Century survivor with original decorative brass studs to the lid. Nice scrolling brass escutcheon detail to the front but sadly no internal lock. It's had some historic worm but all treated & long since gone. Remains good & solid & is a very usable little chest.
The patination on this little chest is to die for. Lots of wear, dinks, scuffs & age related colour all of which just adds to its antique charm. It remains in good strong usable solid condition. It has a deep red golden colour only achieved over many many years. It's been properly cleaned inside & out, waxed & inner surface sealed so is now ready to use, love & enjoyed once more.
It's scratch built construction & design is typical of its late 19th Century period & would date nicely to circa 1900's. It would make for a fabulous storage hobby craft work box or sewing box. Displays very nicely indeed.
