Head Chef – The Canteen – Stokes Croft

A fantastic opportunity to partner with an industry leading team and lead the kitchen of an award-winning business.

£24,000 - £26,000 Plus OTB of £3,000

The Assemblies Ltd operate leading restaurants in the Bristol catering scene,

renowned for our commitment to delicious, affordable food, ethically & locally

sourced and flavour focused.

We pride ourselves in being high quality, accessible, nutritious and sustainable. Our

menus change with the seasons encouraging creativity and experimentation along

with knock out classics.

The Canteen has been a beating heart of Stokes’ Croft for over 10 years – everyone

has been there, whether it was ten years ago or just the other day. The restaurant

offer has won multiple awards over those years and is renowned for always

accommodating the guest’s dietary preferences and requirements.

We are looking for a passionate professional to guide the kitchen through the next

phase of the venue’s evolution. Someone who delivers beautiful consistency in every

dish but also has a sound financial understanding of business and with a natural

ability to lead the development of their kitchen team and grow the reputation

alongside the sales.

As the world looks toward the new normal, we too have taken the opportunity to

realign our values and ethics. As such, our offering will be strictly tailored to vegan

and vegetarian dishes only, and the successful candidate should embody and

champion these values, from field to fork. Your menus will be freshly prepared daily,

vibrant, mouth-watering and championing ingredients from lead local suppliers.

The successful candidate will:

 Have a developed palate and passion for a wide range of cuisines

 Strong experience in vibrant vegan and vegetarian food

 Drive the highest food hygiene standards

 Be GP driven and skilled in stock management

 Hold level 3 food safety management qualification

 Thrive in delivering dishes that cater for nutritional requirements

 Have experience in working with vegan and vegetarian cuisine

 Be hands on at all times

 Be committed to great hospitality and be customer service focused

 Hold team wellbeing at the forefront of all considerations

 Have strong organisational skills

 Be personable and level headed in high pressure environments

 Have a proven track record of training and developing teams

 Have a minimum of 2 years experience as Head Chef in a similar fast paced

fresh food business

 Live our sustainability ethos, cook seasonally and have an in depth

knowledge of local suppliers
