Beautiful Solid Pine IKEA Tarva Chest of Drawers + Bespoke Sliding Changing Table Top
Wimbledon, London
£130
Description
A brilliant, space-saving nursery setup that’s far more solid, versatile, and stylish than typical MDF or chipboard changing units.
This began as an IKEA Tarva 3-drawer chest (solid pine), which I fully upgraded and refinished in a soft, neutral, unisex colour that suits almost any nursery scheme. Every drawer panel was painted before assembly for a clean, consistent finish, and I added charming star-shaped knobs for a fresh, modern look.
The real highlight is the custom-built, fully removable changing table top. Handmade from solid pine, it’s extremely sturdy and perfectly sized for babies and toddlers. It slides on and off using integrated wooden runners and soft felt pads, so the dresser underneath stays protected and unmarked. It has stayed fitted from day one, which is why the top surface is still in excellent condition.
Why this is a great buy
- Built from solid pine – far superior to standard MDF nursery units.
- Switching between a standard chest of drawers and a changing station is easy.
- The changing top offers generous space with raised edges for safety.
- Three deep drawers provide excellent storage for clothes, nappies, bedding, and more.
- A unique, handmade piece with a lovely finish – and it matches the toddler bed I’m also selling.
Condition
Excellent condition. Strong, clean, and well cared for. From a smoke-free, pet-free home.
