For sale is this lovely late 20th-century Romanian cello, labelled “Made in the Workshops of Andreas Feller, Romania for Stentor Music Co. Ltd.”

Stentor cellos are generally considered very good, especially for beginners and intermediate players. They are renowned for offering excellent quality and value, often recommended by teachers for their solid construction from tonewoods, reliable playability, and rich sound that supports student progress.

Andreas Zeller cellos stand out as excellent value European-made student cellos. This all solid cello is made in Romania, to Stentor specifications with good quality tonewoods and a superior standard of finish and fittings.

All Zeller instruments are made with a high standard of workmanship with correct dimensions and thicknessing and offer outstanding quality and tone. They are recommended by many teachers who prefer a European-made instrument. They are ideal for student players and available in a range of sizes.

They provide a very dependable start, this is one of their higher-end models and performs and sounds more like a £1,500 cello. A comparable/same cello would be likely to cost at least £1200 plus - see photos.

This is a well-regarded intermediate, essentially a step-up student instrument — significantly better made than entry-level laminated cellos.
