Places to eat at Lowther.
The Squirrel Inn offers a warm and friendly welcome. You can enjoy a meal in the restaurant or why not try the take away menu and have a cosy night in.

We have live entertainment on selected weekends.
The Squirrel Inn also boasts a family room, kids play area and beer garden. An outside shelter is also provided for those colder nights.

The Lowther mini-market is a large, family run store which is conveniently located near the site office. The shop stocks everything you might need for a weekend away. They provide a wide range of fresh and frozen food, cupboard essentials, local meats, BBQ food and ice creams. Newspapers and magazines are available, along with fresh milk and bread daily.

There is a vast selection of wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks. Camping and caravanning accessories by well known brands are available to buy.

For the kids, there is a large choice of indoor and outdoor toys and games, comics and puzzle books. The shop offers a full range of bottled gas cylinders for sale and exchange, supplied by Calor Gas.

The shop is open daily during the season and takes credit/debit cards, Mobile phone top-ups, National Lottery and Scratch Cards are also available.

Lowther Castle
As the park is situated on the historic Lowther Estate it is easy to visit Lowther Castle. The estate covers 70,000 acres and can offer many different country sports, as well as trout and salmon fishing in the River Eden.

Lowther Castle is a great day out for the whole family. Explore its dramatic ruins, exhibitions, gardens and take the kids to the adventure playground. Finish off your day in the café and shop.

Eden Valley
Lowther Holiday Park is situated in the beautiful Eden Valley with Ullswater to the west. To the east sits the road from Penrith to Alston which is noted as one of Britain’s most beautiful road journeys.
The Scottish Border and Hadrian’s Wall are to the north with Shap Fells and the Lune Gorge to the South.

The historic market town of Penrith is just two miles away and has a famous market as well as a wide range of speciality shops. Penrith lies less than 3 miles outside the boundaries of the Lake District making it perfect to explore the Northern Lakes.
