Description

Hello, recently bought this off a friend. She owned it for several years and did a beautiful conversion. Still some bits to do and I initially bought it as a winter project, my personal circumstances have changed and I no longer have the time and energy to take it on. Really cheap to insure and a DVLA registered camper.

Drove it a good 100 miles when I picked it up from Huddersfield, journey back to Windermere was smootn, engine is solid and drives like a tank, gearbox feels a bit gritty if I'm honest, but otherwise fine.. just an old diesel machine! My mate drove to from Bristol - Huddersfield for me to collect, also no problems. Lots of service history, it's an ex-ambulance, first reg 94, conversion authorised by DVLA etc.. Table, bed, wood burner and kitchen/storage units...

I had planned to fix the oven and hob, plumb the water system in and attach lights to the wiring that is in place, also need a leisure battery as this was not included in the sale when I bought it.. (I have one that is almost new, hardly used, 100 AH would sell for £50 on top of final sale price).

ORIGINAL POST FROM MY FRIEND WHO OWNED IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS......

"128,848 miles MOT from 27th July 2017, £1500
Selling due to long term travelling overseas. The conversion has been an ongoing work in progress over a few years and still is not entirely finished but almost there.
The interior is made from tongue and groove panels below fitted fibre glass cupboards ( part of original ambulance).
The floor boards are reclaimed, built onto a frame with insulation underneath. The kitchen is all handmade from primarily reclaimed wood. The hob and oven are not working and need some tlc. The tap is also not connected to a pump but there is a water butt under the sink.
There is a wood burner installed with check-a-plate heat shield.
The bed folds out into a seating area with table and underneath storage. It is a very cosy and comfortable living space.
The bed and kitchen units all come out separately so it is easy to turn into an empty van. Wheel arches are boxed in and insulated. All wood is treated with teak/ danish/ coconut oil.
The sunroof got pushed too hard so now has gaffer tape on but is still water proof.
The van its self has signs of age. There is rust on the front steps that needs attention, the sills( although this has pop riveted plates over) and several other spots. None of the rust is structural so it was not a problem on the MOT.
The MOT is from July, no advisories.
There are a few issues that need fixing:
Electrics-
-windscreen wipers are currently not turning off
-one of the top back lights works sometimes and not others
-the speedometer and clock stopped working a few months ago
-sometimes the engine doesn't switch off until you switch the lights on.
The accelerator pedal is also sticking a bit at the moment.
It has twin back wheels and air suspension. The air suspension has leaked since I had the van which means it needs to run for a couple of minutes before setting off. There are new air helper springs (included worth approx £200) that can be fitted to solve this.
The windows in the back are great as they are one way so maximum privacy.
There are side and back flood lights which come in when parking in the dark.
It is registered with the DVLA as a motorhome. Also it is registered as 3.9 tonne on the log book. I had it weighed fully laden and it came in at 3. 1 t. The weight has not prevented me from getting insurance or previous owners yet I would recommend sending off the correct forms to down plate it.
Could be a good winter project for someone".
