1946 Dawes fixed gear road bike
Pretty sure it is butted 531 tubing.
Frame has a nice 'ping', 27.2mm seat post, fork blades are engraved 'Reynolds' just below the fork crown.
Frame size 56cm ctt

Rebuilt as a period clubman's machine with 26x1 1/4 Dunlop wheels, fixed free in the rear.
I kept the vintage amber wall tyres, as amberwalls are not available new in this wheel size. Although they show some aging and cracking on the side walls, still usable and good threads.
Dawes engraved lugged handlebar stem with alloy Dawes bars, wrapped in blue cloth tape and shellacked.
Dawes Talon brake set (Weinmann licensed).
Good clip type head set, alloy seat pin with a 1950s Bristol leather seat (Brooks B17 shape).
Original BB, Armstrong chain set.

This is a nice 71 year old road bike, sympathetically built up with 'period' parts and great for vintage rides like eroica, tweed runs, etc...

A conversion to a 3 or 4 speed is easily done, as there is front and rear brake and the OLD is perfect for a hub gear. This frame will also take 27" or 700c wheels, there is enough clearance.

No P+P, collection only from Milton Cambridge

Decent offers welcome and considered

Thanks, Rogier
