A welcoming family in Hackney are looking for an experienced part time nanny housekeeper to care for their two children, aged 11 months and 5 years old, while helping with the day-to-day organisation of their home. This is a varied role that would suit a caring, energetic and well-organised candidate who enjoys working with young children and takes pride in maintaining a tidy and well-run household.

The successful candidate will be confident caring for both a baby and a school-aged child, able to work independently and happy to assist with household duties during quieter periods. Applicants should also be pet friendly and comfortable working in a home with pets. Previous experience in a similar private household role and excellent references are essential.

Duties include:

caring for the children’s daily needs in a warm and nurturing manner
supporting the baby’s feeding, naps and developmental milestones
preparing bottles, meals and snacks for the children
taking the children to local activities and outings when appropriate
supporting school routines for the older child
planning stimulating indoor and outdoor activities
encouraging learning through creative play
keeping children’s toys, bedrooms and nursery organised
washing and ironing the children’s clothing
undertaking general housekeeping duties throughout the home
cleaning and tidying the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas
changing bed linen and managing family laundry
helping with grocery shopping and household errands when required
assisting with pet-related tasks as needed
maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming home environment
