Description

Hi!
We are looking for an au pair to move in on October 26th 2021. We'd like to meet applicants face to face, preferably, so being in the country already is an advantage but Facetime is fine if you are abroad.

If you do not have a genuine interest in childcare then please do not apply.
We are looking for an au pair to look after our two children, a 11 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. We live in Wimbledon. A high level of English is required. Applicants must genuinely love children, be strict when necessary but mainly get things done through being friendly, supportive & engaging with the kids. Minimum stay needs to be Easter 2022 but longer would be preferable.

We are a relaxed, friendly and fun family. I am Charlie. My wife is Tracy. My son is William and my daughter is Emily. We also have a cat called Belle.
Tracy and I both work full time at a college. Outside of our college jobs I work as a musician and Tracy works as a fitness instructor.

What we will offer to you:
£110 per week
Paid holiday for long stay only- 20 days which are during school holidays (1 week at Christmas minimum, 1 week at Easter minimum, 2 days minimum in each half term.)
your own room with own staircase and a bathroom that you will share with a female lodger.
WiFi access.

The role will usually be from 7.15 AM (weekdays), to give the kids breakfast, make a packed lunch for William when needed (not often), making sure they brush their teeth, to make sure Will leaves for school at 8.10 and take Emily to school leaving here at 8.25, it's a 10-15 minute walk. Emily needs collecting from school at 3.30pm. This means you have approximately 9am to 3.15 to yourself (Mon-Fri), however, during this 'free time' you will occasionally be required to perform some basic household duties which are detailed below.

You then need to look after the children until we return from work at about 6.45pm. You will be required to babysit at some point during the week (one evening Mon-Fri), although in reality this does not happen every week. If we require babysitting for more than this you will be paid extra. The weekends you will have free, BUT, if occasionally, you are available to babysit at the weekend, again you will be paid extra.

Basic household and childcare duties:

Preparing daily kids meals and once a week making a bolognese (with hidden veg) for the whole family.
Change kid's bedding once a week
Oversee the tidying away of kids' toys/ books/ clothes
Clean up after the kids and yourself by wiping surfaces/ table after mealtimes and food preparation, rinse the kitchen sink when needed, rinse the bath after bath times, and bathroom sinks if needed
Clean under the kitchen table after mealtimes if needed
Empty bins and put the rubbish out when needed
Receive a shopping delivery once a week and be prepared to pick extra milk/ bread etc if needed between shopping deliveries
Occasionally pick up dry cleaning
Take & collect Emily to/ from school
Liaise with the school about school events
Help with homework tasks
Take the kids to after school activities, which are currently on Mondays (ballet for Emily), Wednesdays (swimming for both children), and Fridays (martial arts for William)
Arrange/ go to play-dates with friends from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays when the opportunity arises
Feed the cat and change the cat litter once a week

Other qualities required:
Hygienic

A non-smoker
