Description
Looking for a group of 2 or 3 other writers working on novels/essays who are keen to meet up, critique and push each other in a literary sense. Not too bothered about genres or career success but ideally based in the experience of something viscerally real to you that you are passionate and sincere about. This isn't an opportunity to get published etc, more a meeting of minds of people who see themselves saying something important through high quality writing for the joy of it even if noone were to ever read their works.
I'm looking for those who see writing as something more than a hobby or side project, as something fundamental to their being. I'm setting this up because I would like to find others to discuss books, fantasies and emotions, and the philosophical ideas behind them with, as well as the process of putting them into narrative.
I'm a big fan of writing in public open spaces, but I'm aware this might not appeal to people who work on laptops, so I'm not particularly focusing on people who want to write together around each other (although it's not something I'm opposed to).
Ideally, this would lead to a small collective of creative writers, each an individual in their own right, who encourage each other when needed, and ultimately, a friend group of peers.
For those on a similar wavelength who find this sort of thing important, I am in my early 30's, male, black London born, written 3 unpublished books of essays, some screenplays, and have begun work on my first novel.
I hope this ad finds you well.
