Description
This is a beautiful antique traditional Chinese wedding basket in red and black with intricate gold chinoiserie motifs. These were given to brides before they were married and were used as a bottom drawer. There are 4 baskets stacked on top of each other (like a steamer) with overarching handle with small metal carrying handle on top. It’s made of cane or wicker and thin wood. It’s a perfect display item as a statement piece or super handy for storing things in the 4 baskets or as it was intended, as a gift for a bride to be. It is high - 2 feet 2 inches in height and the diameter of each circular basket is 17 inches. It is in very good condition. Collection Crossmyloof.
