We got this from from an antique dealer in Chatillon sur Seine, Burgundy, and have displayed it in our French house.
It’s a bronze German Shepherd Dog wall plaque sculpture cast in bas-relief, meaning the figures are raised from a flat background, in the style of German sculptor Fritz Diller (1875-1945).
Dating to circa 1910 to 1920 it is unsigned but bears all the hallmarks of pieces by Diller so as such it is listed as query Fritz Diller?
Well cast and finely worked with lots of detail, it features a German Shepherd Dog in a rural scene with some sheep and a figure in the background (apparently German Shepherd Dogs were not used to frighten the sheep into behaving but to frighten off any potential predators on the sheep!)
A true antique that’s now nicely patinated, it make a great bronze display piece or dog, canine collectible…

In very good sound antique condition with light wear - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
In more or less as found condition having just had a quick wash - I’m sure this would polish up well if so required.
The bronze surfaces are in a good used condition with wear but no damage and an attractive patina - see photos.
The rear is in similar condition.
Has a V shaped hanging loop to the top.
I can find no maker’s mark.
