Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to oversee the Logistics Administration team on a one year contract for a local company based in Poole. If you have a strong background in logistics and administration then this is a fantastic chance to expand your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will oversee all of the administration involved in the logistics of importing products from the Far East to the UK
• You will line manage a team of two other administrators
• Updating the systems daily with amendments and corrections
• Organise and over-see bar-coding requirements,
• Letter of Credit Management – setting up LOCs in accordance with guidelines
• Ensure delivery deadlines are achieved by liaising with suppliers, chasing these where delivery may fall outside agreed timelines
• Liaise with sales office team on deliveries and queries
• Check dispatch and chase documentation (invoices, packing lists, import documentation etc.)
• Liaise with shipping team, regarding tracking of orders and delivery status.
• Oversee delivery discrepancies
• Management of air freight cost re-imbursements, liaising with suppliers where this applies.
• Place orders with suppliers
• Oversee production deliveries from suppliers and into customers.
• Liaise daily with suppliers on all production issues, as well as delivery and shipping queries.

You will need:
• Exceptional Excel skills
• A strong background in either logistics or administration
• Experience of line managing people
• An eye for detail
• A willingness and ability to learn new procedures and processes quickly
