About the Business

This part-time Accounts Assistant role (24–30 hours per week) provides the chance to contribute to a successful business with a strong reputation and a presence across the UK.

Main Duties:

As a Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:

* Manage day-to-day accounting records, including maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, processing supplier payments, and overseeing credit control activities.

* Record financial transactions such as customer receipts, supplier payments, and general journal entries.

* Reconcile supplier accounts regularly to ensure ledger balances are accurate.

* Support the preparation and completion of month-end procedures, including tasks such as bank reconciliations, managing debtors and creditors, and reviewing prepayments, accruals, and intercompany balances.

* Perform monthly financial reconciliations, including VAT and other control account reconciliations.

* Assist with purchase ledger operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.

* Provide general support to the finance team through various administrative and ad hoc tasks as required.

Location / Office / Culture

This is an office-based role located in Redditch. The position is part-time, offering between 24 and 30 hours per week, with flexibility around how the hours are worked. With a strong focus on collaboration and communication, the team works together to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience as a Purchase Ledger is required.

* Experience with bank reconciliations is essential

* Experience handling accruals and prepayments is a bonus!

* Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and analyse data effectively.

* Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software would be an advantage.
