Description

We are working with the UK's leading defence company, who are seeking a skilled Fabricator Fitter to join their dedicated Bridges team at their cutting-edge facility in Stockport. You’ll be part of a respected global organisation delivering long-term contracts to the UK Ministry of Defence, helping to build specialist defence infrastructure with precision, safety, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate and fit aluminium components using jigs, fixtures, and technical drawings.

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, fabrication procedures, and visual/non-destructive inspection standards.

Operate with high precision using hand tools and measurement instruments.

Accurately record activities within SAP through our MRP system.

Identify and report equipment issues in line with approved maintenance procedures.

Uphold all safety and environmental standards across the production floor.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship in a relevant fitting/fabrication discipline.

Previous hands-on experience in a heavy manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Solid understanding of engineering drawings and quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Excellent communication skills and a methodical, safety-first approach.

Desirable:

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.

Key Attributes:

A proactive, reliable team player with strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Comfortable building strong relationships across departments and following procedures with precision.
