Hello, I’m a former Biology teacher and Head of Biology who really enjoys helping students understand, enjoy and succeed at Biology. Biology can feel overwhelming, but my clear explanations, real world examples and interactive methods will help students break down complex concepts into clear, manageable parts, making learning engaging and accessible.
My experience - I have years of experience as a teacher, Head of Department, and private tutor. I’ve taught KS3, GCSE (both separate and combined) and A-Level Biology in selective and non-selective schools. I’ve also worked as a GCSE exam marker, an A-Level coursework moderator and have tutored Scottish National 5, and Scottish Highers. My extensive experience means I understand exam requirements and assessment criteria and know what it takes to support students to boost their results and achieve top grades. I know what examiners look for and how to structure answers for maximum results.
My tutoring sessions:

- Deepen understanding through active learning and reinforcement, using interactive methods and structured revision techniques - practice makes perfect!
- Focus on building essential skills such as spotting patterns and links across the syllabus, applying knowledge to new scenarios, and those essential maths skills required for Biology.
- Prepare students for exam success – using practice exam style questions and past papers to improve exam technique and help students confidently apply their knowledge under timed conditions.
