Lunya is the Good Food Guide North West Restaurant of the Year for 2015 & 2016. We are now recruiting additional Chefs who will form part of a hard-working, talented, tight-knit Kitchen team in our soon-to-open site in the Albert Dock..
Lunya is a unique and distinctive Catalan Deli, Restaurant & Bar in Liverpool One & the Albert Dock. We are very busy with over 2000 covers every week and many more thousands visiting our Deli. We personally source the very best of food and drink that Catalunya and Spain has. We’re a family owned and run company, with husband and wife team, Peter & Elaine Kinsella at the helm – real, honest and genuine people and a business that always tries to do the right thing – for our staff, suppliers and customers.
Our kitchen is extremely busy. With tapas, we cook over 8000 dishes every week and make lots of fresh food for the deli and bake our own sourdough bread every day. Everything is made by us from the best possible ingredients.
We need a Junior Sous Chef who can cook, has a love of food, is well organised, able to work quickly and already have at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Chef de Partie/Junior Sous Chef in similar very busy kitchens who use totally fresh ingredients. A sound knowledge of Spanish gastronomy is highly desirable, too. You will work 5 shifts on, 2 days off every week. Your hours are capped at 48 hours - no ridiculous long shifts and an opportunity to have a work/life balance. Tips are shared amongst the whole team.
Requirements of the Junior Sous Chef:
• Experienced as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a similar environment for 24 months with a genuine commitment and passion for food
• Awareness of health and safety practices and good hygiene
• Be a team player with good communication skills
• Have a genuine passion and flair for fresh ingredients along with good culinary skills
