Job Level

A growing firm of independent financial advisers, located in Swansea and Cardiff, seek a Paraplanner.  This is a full-time role.   Key responsibilities include:  

  • Writing, researching, analysing and compiling Financial Planning reports
  • Completing in full, from start to finish, all client recommendations and matters arising following client planning meetings
  • Providing research for asset allocation on client portfolios
  • Working closely/shadowing existing IFAs at client meetings and providing administrative support
  • Servicing existing clients i.e. providing valuations, portfolio updates and matters arising
  • Ad-hoc projects and tasks as and when necessary
  • Assisting in dealing with regulatory changes and their impact as and when they arise
  • To develop professionally and achieve high levels of technical knowledge and professional qualifications
  • Researching products and maintaining central research
  • Assist in the execution of the annual T&C plan
  • Quantifying and analysing clients existing investments.  This will incorporate:
    • Valuation statements
    • Use of cashflow planning tools
    • Tax planning analysis
    • Risk modelling
    • Investment planning and analysis
    • Pension forecasts and Illustrations

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years’ experience within a comparable role, have a firm knowledge of regulatory requirements and be educated to degree level or equivalent.  A strong background and knowledge of financial services is mandatory, preferably Level 4 or diploma qualified would be advantageous.   Required previous experience on:  

  • An experienced user of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Process driven and systematic
  • Popular IFA back office systems i.e. Intelliflo or Bluecoat
  • Synaptics and Exchange
  • Cashflow forecasting software

In addition, you will demonstrate excellent personal organisational and administrative skills with a proven ability to excel in a high-pressured environment whilst consistently meeting deadlines.  An ability to communicate effectively both internally and in face-to-face client meetings is desirable.   This is a great opportunity to join a growing and reputable firm located across South Wales, with opportunities to develop a long-term career and professional qualifications.   Salary will depend on experience.  Please apply with your CV and a short covering note.
