Are you a strong Support Worker who has the skills, knowledge and drive to make a difference to the lives of homeless people facing challenges around substance misuse and mental health? If so, a recognised National Homeless Charity is recruiting for a hardworking Support Worker to start in late February.
You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team who provide 24 hour support in a 10 unit emergency temporary accommodation service for people waiting for housing support from the local housing department.
Working in line with Supporting People funding criteria, you will assist the Senior Support Workers to support clients living in temporary accommodation with multiple and complex needs including self-harm, mental health and drug & alcohol issues.
Joining the rolling rota, you will work a combination of day and waking night shifts between Monday and Sunday. You will benefit from weekly pay, the opportunity to work overtime hours to increase your earnings and free on-street parking.
Our client is looking for someone who understands the challenges faced by those who are homeless or struggling from substance and alcohol misuse. You will need to be confident in using your own initiative, be able to stay calm in crisis and comfortable addressing people displaying challenging behaviour.
