We are looking for an experienced Paid Social Media Specialist to join our Online Marketing Team and help us kick-start a new department specialism within our company.  New Star Media is an automotive online solution agency that focuses heavily within the used car industry and provides websites and online marketing services to UK and international companies from franchises and local dealerships to internationally operating global brands.

Experience is key to this role as we have identified an opportunity within our industry and need to act fast.  Because of this, we need to import experience and knowledge for this new department into our existing product offering.  You will be required to take the lead on this and work with upper management and the existing online marketing team to set up the new paid social arm of our business.  Once set up, your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • The managing, executing and optimising of a number of paid social media campaigns ensuring efficiency and profitability
  • Perform ongoing analysis of campaigns (using the likes of Facebook reporting and Google Analytics) to identify opportunities that will allow you to diversify the strategy based on client needs and goals
  • You will speak with clients over the phone, on email and face-to-face to discuss progress and possible opportunities for future campaigns
  • You will create comprehensive internal and client-facing reports on a regular (and ad-hoc) basis
  • As the department grows, you will need to create, document and maintain processes and methodologies for use by existing and new staff members
  • You will be required to support upper management and other online marketing departments with research and insight around datasets which may lead to effective cross-channel media strategies and tactics
  • You will also need to support the Sales Team and Account Managers with insight reports that they can use to pitch to new clients or retain existing ones


To achieve the above, we require all applicants to have the following skills and experience:

  • You must have at least 1 years’ experience within paid social media marketing and be able to prove your success through current activities or case studies
  • As well as hands-on experience, you must have the ability and knowledge to manage every step of the setup, execution and optimisation of campaigns
  • The role will be very client focused, so your communication (both verbally and written) must be to a very high standard
  • Initially, our main focus will be on Facebook, but knowledge and experience with other social media platforms would be beneficial
  • You must have good working knowledge within the Microsoft Office suite (or similar)
  • Required certifications:
    • Educated to at least A Level standard
    • Facebook Blueprint
    • Google Advertising Fundamentals Exam (not essential)


As a candidate, you should have the following personal traits:

  • You must possess the ability to expand on data and opportunities and be able to identify areas that can both improve campaigns and provide valuable data for other marketing opportunities outside of paid social media marketing
  • You must be able to take detailed data and distil the information down to its simplest form for clients to understand
  • You must be able to manage all the activities and processes required to create and proficiently run campaigns across multiple projects both independently and as part of a team – this requires a high degree and autonomy and time management
  • You must have the drive to learn and be able to identify and act on new trends
  • A personal interest in the automotive world would be very beneficial in this role, but obviously this knowledge can be picked up if needs be
