We’re hiring!!

The Real Junk Food Project Sheffield (TRJFPS) is expanding and we’re looking to fill the following roles:

  • Catering Manager
  • Chef Manager

TRJFPS began in 2015 as a volunteer led food waste campaign and now runs two community cafes, an ethical catering business, the Sharehouse Market and an educational program for primary schools. Our aim is to create a more sustainable and fair food system in Sheffield, feeding bellies, not bins.

We have big plans for our catering business in 2018 and we need to ambitious people to help us grow this part of the project. This is a chance to help build an unconventional and exciting new business. For the right candidate there is the option to progress to a director position as the catering business grows.

Catering Manager

  • Demonstrable experience of organising and running catering and/or events
  • Confident, both in staff management and client liaison
  • Organised, courteous and efficient
  • Excellent understanding of working to budgets
  • Full, clean UK/EU driver’s licence
  • Excellent proficiency of the English language, both spoken and written
  • Ability to use or learn to use G Suite products and social media (Google Mail, Drive, Google Docs, Instagram etc)
  • It’s also preferable that you have a keen interest in both food and food waste.

Chef Manager

  • Experience of managing kitchens in multiple sites
  • Experience in event catering
  • Awareness of current HACCP regulations and health and safety
  • The ability to manage volunteers with varying skills sets
  • Menu planning, for events and bistro nights
  • Ability to manage staff and volunteer training and development
  • Excellent proficiency of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to use or learn to use G Suite products and social media (Google Mail, Drive, Google Docs, Instagram etc).
  • It’s also preferable that you have a keen interest in both food and food waste.

 

Further Info:

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, Monday - Saturday with evening and weekend work expected. Additional hours worked will be compensated when on a client job.

Holidays: 28 days pro rata per year including bank holidays.

Salary: £8.75 p.h. ( £18,200.00 p.a. For 40h weeks). This is a starting salary with a view to grow as the business grows.

Location: HQ and office based in Carlisle Street, S4 but travel across our sites in S2 and S6 and to client jobs across South Yorkshire is expected.
