Join a well-established company working as The Junior Sous Chef for a multipurpose outlet. Working directly with The Head Chef and The Senior Sous Chef, you will be running an extremely busy kitchen located on the outskirts of Cardiff.

Working in a hotel that provides over 150 weddings a year with other outside catering facilities, as well as managing a 40 seater restaurant with an already excellent reputation, every day will bring you something different working in this magnificent venue.

This venue is perfect for a chef who is comfortable and enjoys cooking in high volume. Working with a very experienced brigade of chefs, you will be testing your own skills and knowledge within the industry.

Key Information:

  • Looking for the right chef to start as soon as possible due to business demands
  • This is a permanent full time contract
  • Annual salary of £23,000-£24,000
  • Contracted to 45 hours per week
  • Paid for extra shifts and hours 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Day to day running of the kitchen, working closely alongside the Head Chef and the Sous Chef
  • The hotel is a multi-purpose venue, you will be managing both the restaurant and the outside catering facilities
  • High expectation on quality – each dish must meet the standards of quality the hotel demands whilst coping with the sheer volume of service 

Skills Required:  

  • Looking for a chef with great composure who can deal with high pressure situations
  • You must be organised as you will be running the kitchen when the Head Chef and Sous Chef are out of the business
  • Having experience of cooking in hotels would be beneficial for the start of your career with this hotel
  • Looking for a chef with at least four years’ experience of working at Senior Chef de Partie level
