Chainsaw operatives for on going forestry work
To join existing gang working in hardwood thinnings and oversized softwood, behind/in front of harvester for the summer months and chestnut in the winter as a rule.
Paid monthly (fort-nightly to start with) mainly on production, last season was £80 - £180 per day in Chestnut dependent on how hard/efficient you want to work.
Training given to guys that are enthusiastic, but must be self-employed, organised, be able to tolerate graft, able to budget... and generally awesome.
This is a very physically demanding job so you will need to have the self drive if not the initial physical fitness. We can work on your love handles but your attitude is more difficult.
Must have own saw speced from 50cc to 70cc like 357xp or Stihl 362 (you wont be productive enough without!), you can buy a used one from me if not, please do not bring an M-Tronic saw - ive had a gut full of those inconsistent piles of shit. You need your own 4 wheeled transport (4x4 beneficial), PPE, timber tapes, and associated equipment etc. You MUST speak fluent English due to previous communication issues.
If you know how to use a saw and cut to spec then you will earn sensible money if you dont then you wont to start with!
If you dont have commercial forestry experience and do not live within COMMUTING DISTANCE then please do not apply - i cant give you the time you will need.
I will not take on farther son duo's they are a bloody nightmare in my experience!
Im happy for anyone with the basic skills to give it a go as everyone has to start somewhere but if you cant get out of bed and/or give it 100% then you will not get on with myself the rest of the lads. If you are a talker and not a doer you wont get on with your colleges and I - if you are a doer and a talker then its still likely you wont. They will give you the time if you want to get stuck in and take constructive criticism as will I.
You will need to grasp 3-4inch top diameter 5.5inch and 3inch min top diameter within the spec along with the associated lengths. We produce a good product on mass and if you are producing material that is out of spec then it fucks up our system, this is why you will need to cut accurately consistently.
We also need people are willing to commit within reason to a good part of the season. The more loyal you are the more loyal i am and if after a time you feel its not for you then that's no problem but be an adult about it.
Experience with purpose built forestry machines also useful.
Help with finding accommodation if experienced (in this industry) and committed - Spareroom dot co dot you kay is a good site that guys have used before, have a look in a 5 mile radius.
Please send an email or text message with a brief history of your work and some basic personal info inc age. Do this before calling please. Im not interested in any CVs or references - i prefer to take as i find.
If you havent read and taken on board what i have just said please dont waste my time and i wont waste yours. Thanks - look forward to hearing from you! :)
