Farm Worker / Grounds Maintenance
We require a self-employed energetic individual to work 2 days a week on a 1,300ac mixed estate in Hampshire.
Preshaw Estate is run with great emphasis placed on the landscape beauty, conservation and tranquillity.
Willingness to turn your hand to the endless list of jobs that running such a property involves is essential.
Our main arable, livestock and forestry enterprises are catered for and do not form part of this role. However, there are smaller scale / fiddly jobs which aren’t suited to the large machinery which you must be responsible for:
Tractor (license essential) - small 100hp tractor.
Spot weed control
Telehandler – JCB.
Fence repair with hydraulic post driver
Clearing drainage grips
Basic track resurfacing, filling in pot-holes
Unloading lorries / deliveries
Forestry (chainsaw license essential)
Clearing wind blown trees
Thinning of smaller plantations
Reading water meters
Hanging gates, maintaining stiles
Clearing out cattle grids, gutters, drainage gulleys etc.
Strimming, hedge cutting.
Building experience, and plumbing skills would be most welcome to assist our small team of builders.
Basic word & excel skills
Use of email
Willingness to use a smart phone for task & teamwork management. We use Microsoft Planner. Training provided.
You must be reliable and happy to work alone in the outdoors.
Couples / pair of individuals considered.
Salary dependant on experience, and tools/machinery you may already own and wish to use.
