Privately owned, “The Boot” Freehouse in Sarratt, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced & enthusiastic Sous Chef with a vitality and flair for the job. Nick and Zöe have built up this business to be an incredibly busy pub restaurant, offering nothing but fresh, homemade food using local suppliers and produce. We won Best Family Pub of the year 2016 and were runners up in 2017 at The Great British Pub Awards. We are number 1 in the area on Trip Advisor and have been for many years.
There is a constant excitement and buzz amongst our motivated and experienced team. Our menu offers a variety of traditional and seasonal dishes, homemade (and prepared) fish & meat specials, afternoon teas, tapas & pizzas at the weekends and an exciting and innovative specials board which changes daily. We visit Billingsgate fish market on a regular basis and encourage & inspire the whole team to come up with new and innovative dishes.
The successful candidate will need strong communication skills, experience of working in a busy kitchen and ambition & drive to fit in with a strong & successful team. Salary is negotiable (around the £30k mark, depending on experience and the successful individual) but promises to offer fantastic opportunities in the future and huge steps up the career ladder.
