Junior Sous Chef  

Forge & Co in Shoreditch is spread over 4 floors, the ground floor being a 100 cover restaurant, lounge and bar. The other levels consisting of co-working spaces for media professionals. The F&B offering is a British Brasserie which delivers casual dining with high levels of service, locally sourced products and innovative ideas.

Job Description As the Junior Sous Chef, you will report directly to the Head Chef. Passion enthusiasm and a good work ethic are a must. NVQ catering level 2 is a must, as is experience in professional kitchens at high volume. This is a small and friendly team who pride themselves in teamwork. The role of Junior Sous Chef is challenging, you'll be expected to make sure the kitchen is producing top-quality cuisine.  

Key responsibilities:

·Running the kitchen when the head chef is away

·Ensuring your kitchen has high culinary standards

·Managing food purchasing and storage

·Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment

·Helping create new recipes and write menus

·A flair with ingredients

·An ability to stay calm when the pressure mounts

·Strong leadership skills to motivate your brigade of chefs

·First rate culinary skills
