Seasonal Catering 'All-rounders' - Award winning Fish & Chip/Pizza Restaurant/Music Venue ACCOM Incl
Full time and Part time SEASONAL (March to October) Catering Assistants required for Food in the Park; a very busy, award-winning Fish and Chip and Pizza Restaurant/Take away and Coffee House, plus an amazing live music venue and Scottish Craft Beer Centre!
We require high calibre, hardworking, positive staff with catering experience and a great attitude to life! If you can make a barista style coffee one minute, fry chips the next and serve a pint in the meantime without getting frazzled, then we want to hear from you!
Food in the Park is an award winning Fish and Chip and Pizza Restaurant, Take away and Coffee House in the Highlands of Perthshire in Scotland. We have worked extremely hard to build a great reputation as a quality restaurant and cafe and have just been named as one of the top 20 UK Fish and Chip Restaurants of the Year! We've also gained high praise from Visit Scotland by being awarded a 'Taste our Best' accreditation, which is testiment to our hard work and high values.
We have recently added an awesome live music venue to our premises and entertain customers with live bands and a bar every weekend.
Last, but not least, we also run The Scottish Craft Beer Centre, which is a tourist attraction and retail outlet housing the largest selection of Scottish Craft Beers, Ciders and Gins all under one roof!
We'd love to find like-minded individuals to work with us to help run our business over the 8 months of the season (March to end of October) and maintain our high standards and win some more awards!
The job entails working in ALL parts of our business; Cafe, Restaurant, Takeaway, Bar, Music venue and Craft Beer Centre. You should be willing to learn fast and take on quite a lot of information in the first few weeks, so past catering experience would be very helpful. During the summer months and school holidays we get VERY busy, so an unflappable nature and calm head, whilst smiling and providing superior customer service is a great skill to bring to us!
Whilst we work hard for the short season, we do try to have as much fun as possible, so a positive attitude and a great sense of humour is very valuable!
Some of the work involved in the job is listed below, although this is not an exhaustive list. Due to the nature of the business all staff members are required to learn all aspects of work available during the day and evening, so extra responsibilities would be added in time:
Cafe and food preparation before opening.
Taking orders and payment from customers
Waiting on customers
Preparing snacks such as hot rolls, cakes or soups
Cleaning during and after service hours
Assisting with the frying
Preparing food before cooking
Working in the Bar
Assisting on Live Music nights (Bar work, Tickets etc)
Food in the Park is open from 11am until 8pm every day. The bar is open from 11am to 11pm Monday to Thursday plus Sunday, and 11am to 12.30am Fridays and Saturdays. We have live music on from 8pm to 11pm every Friday and Saturday. The Scottish Craft Beer Centre is open whenever the Restaurant is open!
As you can see from the above there is plenty of opportunity to work as many hours as you want in varied positions to earn a great seasonal wage! We run a rota on a three-week basis so you'll always know what shifts you are working at least three weeks at a time.
We pay well over the minimum wage per hour and experience is always factored into the pay. We offer a pension plan, free food for staff (terms apply), staff accomodation at a VERY low rent per week (£45 plus electricity) a free uniform, holiday pay and free Food Hygiene training/certification if required.
If you'd like to have a varied job where one day is different from the next, you love catering and customer service is high on your agenda, and you want to have fun at work listening to live music - then this is the place for you!
Please apply to Sally Judd with a covering letter and CV, with a photo if possible
Many thanks and we hope to hear from you soon!
