Part Time, 15 hours per week
Aldern House, Bakewell (Negotiable)

This is an exciting opportunity to put your development skills to work at the Peak District National Park. Join us in looking after one of the most beautiful parts of Britain.

Working within our in-house IT Team, you will manage and enhance our suite of existing web applications but also seek to develop new web applications and work with other teams to implement the Information Management Strategy (IMS). Supporting a mixture of in-house developed applications as well as managing supplier relationships for ‘off the shelf’ web applications, you will advocate the use of technology to support operational business needs as well as advise and guide the future direction for our web applications and technologies.

You will deal with both routine and project based work, with the focus on continued development, support and administration of the suite of applications that support internal business operations as well as public services delivered through web applications. You will work closely with the Web Manager to link applications with other digital channels (such as social media and our website) closely. You will also work closely with in-house Database and GIS administrators to utilise our data within applications to the maximum potential.

You will have existing experience (professional or as part of a recent relevant course, such as a university degree course) of web development methodologies and frameworks. Experience managing and maintaining web servers and associated technologies (such as but not limited to IIS JVM/JRE/JDK and apache). Experience with ColdFusion is desired, though not essential as it may be appropriate to migrate to another technology. Also some exposure to SQL server database driven applications and SOAP web services is desirable, but not essential.

A training program will be designed with the successful applicant.

Due to the nature of the work, we are happy to talk flexibly about working arrangements. We offer a number of excellent staff benefits which include up to 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Flexi Time, Flexible Working, an excellent Pension and a Childcare Voucher scheme.

Please note, at this stage we will accept CV’s but you may be asked to complete an application form if we need more information for shortlisting purposes.

Closing date: Midnight on Monday 19 February 2018
